This is a commonplace sight on the English Boom Trail on Camano Island on Camano Island. A place surrounded by the waters of Skagit Bay, Port Susan, and Sarasota Passage in the Puget Sound region of Washington State. Water makings its determined way through marshes, rushes, fields, the surrounding land. Insistent, dominating, winning out in the end—
As is this as well—vista, driftwood structures, sky sky sky and the far-off horizon—
Sky in a puddle, clouds as defined by reflection and shine, ripple and twisted tufts—
I write therefore I am. My six-word memoir? Teetered on the precipice then jumped.
Interests: Reading, writing, not arithmetic. The art and craft of poetry. Photography. Vegetable and flower gardening especially heirloom bulbs and dahlias. Movies in real theatres. Theatre on real stages. Art in real galleries. Crossword puzzles and, of course, Wordle. Singer-songwriters like Aimee Mann and Patti Griffin. All kinds of music especially 1930s jazz. Venice, Italy! The Dude abides.
