What could be better than to take the exit for Brooks, Oregon just north of Salem and wend your way on a two-lane road to bear witness to dozens of acres of peonies almost at the peak of their springtime bloom? That is what we managed to find the time to do on our drive back from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon a week or so ago. Even the brooding skies were unable to diminish the vista, the glory of such floral abundance—a reminder of the necessity of beauty these dark, darl American days.
I write therefore I am. My six-word memoir? Teetered on the precipice then jumped.
Interests: Reading, writing, not arithmetic. The art and craft of poetry. Photography. Vegetable and flower gardening especially heirloom bulbs and dahlias. Movies in real theatres. Theatre on real stages. Art in real galleries. Crossword puzzles and, of course, Wordle. Singer-songwriters like Aimee Mann and Patti Griffin. All kinds of music especially 1930s jazz. Venice, Italy! The Dude abides.
